Mixed messages

To be successful, to be an achiever you must go, go, go. Motivation & Discipline is the answer. Get up at 5am,

ree

study, exercise, breathe, walk in the sunshine, talk a cold shower, fast, no caffeine until 6,30am, no more caffeine after 11am, have a savoury breakfast, don’t blend your food. Then, take care of yourself, have a bath with Epsom salts, take time for ‘you’ and reflect, sleep, rest, sleep a bit more, more breath work, read a bit, stretch, walk amongst the trees, walk bare feet in the sand even. Confused? You should be!

We are set up with near impossible ideas of healthy lifestyles and wellbeing that we end up most likely doing nothing or not sustaining what we try and achieve. It’s not surprising really that we sit feeling like we should be accomplishing something but, yet again, end up doing nothing.

When we see these lovely glorious images of those people that make those posts, we are led to believe this is also so lovely and wonderful. What we don't necessarily see is that the picture that was taken for one of those posts has taken time to deliver, by a person with a lot of time on their hands AND they already have the wealth, or at least the means to be a full time poster of wonderful things and a great body. They are creating ideals of their world and projecting them onto us without a real chance of any of those two worlds colliding to make one happy dreamy world we can all live in.

So what is the answer? Before I go there I would like to add that it is good to be inspired. We need extremes to pull and push us and allow us to make choices and be different. So content that makes us think is good, right? Content that continues to make us feel worthless, and like underachievers is not good. We do have the option to switch off, swipe and turn the page if we don't like it. But it is quite impossible to avoid. Especially if our peer group is in relentless pursuit of these wanted goals. So what is the answer?

Balance has to be the first thing to consider. But how do you get to that? How do you achieve strength and create a balance that works for you? Reflecting on a previous article I wrote, I mentioned changing the adjective. Adding ‘er’ to happy, and ‘er’ to healthy, etc.

Even when stuck in the struggle amongst your peer group, you have to start defining what suits you, what is best for you. You may already be failing so you have nothing to lose by redefining what is important to you. You may actually be thriving within your peer group, or seemingly so and you may be finding it hard to sustain. Time to do something about it. This is where Life Coaching comes in. Being able to have a private, non judgmental conversation can unlock a lot of the confusion and mixed messages in your life. Being able to actually talk about ‘you’ to another human being, knowing you are being listened to and knowing you can speak freely is empowering and potentially life changing.

Consider unlocking all the confusion. Consider defining the important elements that are effective in making you ‘er’ on the positives. I want to help you so please get in touch eddiecleal@gmail.com What do you want to talk about?
